I think they are very similar becasue they are both trying to show off the same/ give the same impression which is that of being a gangster/wanabe gangster and hopefully living up to the expectations of the fans where they believe them to be strong ('hard'). many people believe that this is the lifestyle of them as being sex drugs rock and roll and more women.
