The masthead of my college magazine, Pumped, was a given a 'techno - like' look, as I wanted it to stand out and be different and catch students' eyes, as students are my target audience. I also kept the 'techno - like' font scheme going throughout my front cover so that the design would look consistant. I used the colours red, blue and black as they contrast well with each other and also stand out against the background. I designed the background of my cover using the gradient tool, and it took many attempts to achieve the look I was trying to achieve. The features of this magazine are aimed at a male audience aged between 16-19, promising advice on gym attendance and health as this is important to young males as they begin to focus more on their appearances. The main image that I have used for this cover is a centrally framed medium close up shot of a male student who is gazing out at the audience to attract their attention. Not every edition of the magazine would be for males.
