This particular magazine was first released in 1993. in the 21st century up until now the female rap-star Mary J Blige had been hitting the cover so in my magzine i will bring back the "manly" look with a male medium close up shot such as the one portrayed on T.I.

The colour scheme of this particular issue of VIBE is black and white with a red masthead and red titles on the coverlines. the black and white work very well with T.I as he is going for the Urban gangster look such as in the old black and white gangster movies, "The Lies & The Laughter" and also in the Original "Scarface" film starring Paul Muni in 1932. T.I. is a late twenties male whom has a very dark ethnicity. his clothes are also representative of the old gangster films which are associated with things like a classy gangster with guns and cigars etc. this is why i think that the black and white contrast well together also. Secondly the Red masthead and titles of the coverlines work well i think also with the black and white "gangster" look as the guns out of the old films were often fired and caused blood over a lot of the place, so with the red on the masthead and makes me think that "blood" is connoted on the front cover. T.I's expression is expressionless so it makes me think that maybe he doesn't car about the "blood" and gives off the impression that again he is in charge. there are no strong or dominant lines in this front cover just the fact that black and white are so different from each other they work well
